Collaborating, Revising, and Hacking: An Interview with E. C. Myers

Collaborating, Revising, and Hacking: An Interview with E. C. Myers

It’s a common enough story, but it breaks the hearts of writer types: someone pours his soul into writing a screenplay. And it’s a great screenplay! Fast-moving, high-concept, fresh. But then something gums up the development works, and things grind to a halt. That great screenplay never gets turned into a movie.
This is where Adaptive Studios comes in. Their business is to seek out unproduced screenplays with big potential, turn them into books—and then turn those books into movies or TV shows, bringing the process full circle.
We wanted to know more about how this process works. Who are the people who rework the screenplays, transforming them into novels? E. C. Myers is one of those writers, and he graciously answered a few questions about what it was like to collaborate with Adaptive.
