The King Motor Inn is a well- known hub for seedy happenings. It is also the home of Aaron, a veteran with emotional trauma as severe as the physical. When Aaron returns home from a night of drinking and discovers Kyla, a beautiful young woman who has just attempted suicide, he lies about their relationship in a desperate play to save her life. When Kyla wakes up in a psychiatric hospital and discovers his lies, she writes him a letter asking for an explanation, forging an unlikely friendship between the pair that will change both their lives forever. Through a series of cynically sweet correspondences, the pair learn about each other- as well as themselves- and their eyes are opened to a new world of possibility and hope. Will they be able to save each other? Or will the cyclical tragedies of their lives intervene once again?
