Growing up black in a small racist town can weigh heavily on anyone, but surviving that pain and the constant set back will leave you with a tough heart, a head that stays on the swivel and always waiting for the hook! I grew into the struggle, when I was delivered to this cruel world it had been corrupt way before I touched down. When your family's way of life is all you know, you think it's normal, you don't know there is something better out there, your just grateful that your situation doesn't get worse. Being in a city that has been hanging and harassing blacks since before the documented Lynching of Jesse Washington in 1916, one would think, why would you bring a child into this life.
