Dogs Get Diabetes Too

All I wanted was just a dog. I didn't imagine all of the medical experiences I would get with having one, and I never imagined having a dog with diabetes. When I got the diagnosis it broke my heart. Why did he have to be sick? I just knew he was going to die right then and when he didn't, I discovered, just what a joy he was to have. He taught me so much about being a patient and about just how much you can love an animal. This is a true account of the roller-coaster ride of ups and downs during the life of my dog Pokey. He passed away February 25,th 2016 at 12 years and two months old but he gave me a lifetime of memories.
