"If Black Men Don't Do These Three Things, Black Woman, Men & Children
Are In Trouble"

On March 29th of 2020, at 11 pm, I got the scare of my life.
My 18-year-old daughter Kyla came bursting into my room and said, "I have
to go to the hospital!"

As Kyla rubbed her eyes, I'm thinking, "Did she eat another piece of
seafood she's allergic to again?"

"Tyrell has been shot!" she said. See, Tyrell is Kyla's boyfriend of two
years. I offered to drive Kyla to the hospital, but she refused. She
drove herself there.

Later, at 2 AM, the phone rings. It's Kyla calling my wife Sierra. I
looked at it and said to myself, "I ain't picking up that phone!"

Sierra answers the phone, and Kyla says, "Tyrell has passed away."

We were shocked, to say the least. Instead of Kyla planning for a wedding,
She planned a funeral.

The next day, I thought to myself, "What can I do to help our Black men
and boys?"

I quickly thought that if the guy who took Tyrell's life was cultivating
himself and walking in his purpose, he would not have the desire to take
another person's life.

I also realized that there are three areas of a man's life that must be
cultivated .

If Black Men Don't Do These Three Things, Black Woman, Men & Children
Are in Trouble"

First, black men must work on themselves. They must recover from
whatever pain, trial, and trauma they experienced throughout their
lifetime.

So, I came up with what I call THE L.I.O.N. Assessment. The LION
ASSESSMENT is like a SWOT Analysis but for Black men.

Second, black men must restore their relationships. Domestic violence,
divorce, and gun violence play a role in damaging relationships. We must examine the impact and change the narrative.

Finally, black men must be restored in their career, discover their
purpose so they can monetize their gift, and learn to build a career
around it. All this I share how to do in this book.
