Stacking the Deck
Acclaimed Actress Stacy Marcus found dead in a locked house.
Chancy Evans, Samantha Summers' housemate, is asked to deliver a request to her. Coty Mitchum, the head coach for the NBL's Toronto Huskies, is arrested for the death of one of his lovers, movie star Stacy Marcus. Sam, aware of Mitchum's sordid reputation, at first, refuses to take the case, but when he offers her $200,000 just to show up and another $300,000 to prove he's innocent, she relents.
Within days of landing in Toronto, Sam uncovers the truth, freeing Mitchum. But when he refuses to pay her, it sets off a series of events that prove to have dire consequences for Sam and Chancy. She now needs to solve a second, more complex mystery to save Chancy's neck. Or is the deck stacked against them?
