the story about a young adult Artemis who's in the middle of her senior year when the pandemic hits. having school close down and resorting to online. Artemis decides to spend the last day at school with her friends. even making new ones in the middle of a debate about the protest and riots of the racial injustice going around in their world. getting a skeptical visit from her ex-boyfriend Artemis and her friends decide to go out and party for one last night before Covid-19 restrictions start. but what she didn't know was that day was going to be the last day of somewhat normalcy she would have before her world is turned upside down. witnessing a mass murder by the government and going on the run into hiding. Artemis just wants to go back home and finish her senior year. she didn't intend on getting separated from her friends in an ambush. now thrown into a military facility with barely any memories and other teens. Artemis is told if she wants out she has to learn to survive because the government wants to turn the new generation into their own soldiers faced with reality Artemis has no choice but to fight because she is part of Gen Z.
