It's between "white death" and the arctic ocean...

Curtis Kane, a biology professor is living his dream: a chance to study the ways of the Inuit in northern Alaska. Curt and his native guide spend the day hunting seals when they realize they are being followed by a starving polar bear. The two men are driven towards the open ocean. Curt--a man stricken with cancer--learns that the beastly creatures have a powerful sense of smell and can actually detect the scent of death! As they reach the sea and the end of their trek, the two men must decide whether to fight or flee.
