Scorn Not the Gifts

Everyone knows the story—the dozen faeries who were invited to the naming of a duc's daughter, and the one who was overlooked. In retaliation, the thirteenth fae curses the little princess to die on her sixteenth birthday, because she wants to make the duc suffer. He thought he had good reason to exclude her. Perhaps he did, but now that reason's about to rebound on him and everyone he loves. Including his wife, his daughter, and his mistress, who may have the most to lose of all.
