Short Stories from Florida

Through uplifting and thought-provoking anecdotes, Evelyn Bell provides an interesting commentary on our society at large-that devotion and faith in a higher power are what keeps humanity alive. Short Stories from Florida reinforces the notion of faith and what it means to believe in God. Bell introduces us to people in both everyday and extraordinary circumstances: an American soldier stationed in Afghanistan, fighting in an unjust war; a woman whose faith is polluted by the attitudes of others; and a woman, who remains calm in choppy waters, is allowed to see and hear more clearly. These short stories and others highlight the bond between fathers and sons, faith in the past, and devotion in the future. From art galleries and malls to beaches and kitchen tables, faith is plentiful to those who believe in it.
