Spirits, Life, Worship: A Hawaiian Religious and Catholic Perspective

This book examines how the contemporary Mo'okini Hawaiian religious perspective (as explicated by the kahuna nui) compares with contemporary Catholic perspectives (as explicated by this Jesuit author) in several areas of common concern for someone seeking growth in the spiritual life today. At our time and place in the world, the spirits of many are broken or are breaking in the context of modern life. For more than a few, fresh perspectives can foster and enhance the desire for deeper connection with God, self and others. Even though some may find this comparative approach problematic, hopefully it will broaden awareness for many through comparison and contrast, and motivate thoughtful choices for action.
