Let's Play Godball!: Unorthodox Sermons by a Circuit Rider Episcopal Priest from Middle Texas

Sermons that approach the experience of God both reverently and playfully. Coggin believes that the laity are just as able as the ordained to think about God. Following the liturgical kalendar, these sermons take classical theology seriously while neither idolizing nor weaponizing it. The language ranges from academic to earthy, seeking to find strike chords of recognizable human experience against which theology is tested. Hearers often describe Coggin's preaching as "fresh," which he says is because he hasn't yet made his mind up about God. Let's Play Godball! is aimed at opening made up minds to new and illuminating ways to think about God and the revelation in Christ Jesus.
