Matador in Naked City

Based on events in real life, Matador in Naked City is a novel of Las Vegas . While the world's middle incomes flock to Las Vegas for entertainment and fantasies that safely expire upon predetermined departure like Cinderella's carriage, conversely, the economic casualties find themselves without such escape, deposited in the perennial limbo of existential dilemmas. The stories of their daily lives illuminate the illusions just a short stroll beyond the glittering Strip lights. Originally propelled by dreams of potential, human souls now exist on the fringe of neighborly generosity. Outcasts and misfits defeat loneliness and alienation by the idealistic hope for acceptance and redemption - like shimmering dreams beyond the reality of the next catastrophic neighborhood tragedy. These vignettes of isolated characters seem to encapsulate the trajectory of 21st century America.
