The Sun Never Flickers

Things never change at Saint Barbara Asylum, that's what Samantha always believed. She's lived in the hospital for years, has grown used to the monotony of it, the darkness, the casual cruelty. She thinks she will never leave this place. But now, in the place where nothing changes, things are beginning to shift. A little idea is growing in her mind, changing her, reshaping her view on the hospital, on the world beyond it. Can there be more to life than just Saint Barbara? Are her friends here enough? Or is there something beyond those walls that she needs, that she deserves? Soon these thoughts consume her, and she's left with only one question, is it better to stay in the predictability of darkness, or should she risk it all for a chance to see the light?
