REPUTATION is a story about a young man who lost his footing in the world, with terrible consequences.
Ed Fitzgerald is a hard-working, dedicated civil engineer who finds himself under attack by a co-worker who wants his partnership. He decides to quit after being falsely accused of bungling the plans for an important project.
Ed's dream is to open a farm store. He gains the reluctant approval of his wife, Nancy, but then runs into a corrupt town official who demands a bribe for zoning approval. Their struggle entangles him in a fatal web of lies, hidden agendas, sexual deviancy, and ruthlessness.
With unforgettable characters and a compelling plot, REPUTATION bends the line between literary and commercial fiction. Readers will be moved by Ed's encounter with cold ambition and the seamy underbelly of small-town life.
