The Sermon: Reflections on the Gospel of Matthew 5-7

Poems and short stories centered around Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.I need to share with you the beginning and the inspiration. On a Friday afternoon in April, 2017, I sat in my living room chair reading Matthew's beatitudes. The thought entered my mind. 'What does it really mean to be poor in spirit?'With modern technology at hand, I typed the question into Google and received an answer from Billy Graham at billygraham.orgThe experience, though quite simple, touched me deeply. A comment from a previous reader brought a tear to my eye.And I promised our God I would write these words with His blessing.Lord, You spoke from the top of the mount, to Your chosenand the multitudes.I pray that I am includedamong those who are so blessed.Amen
