In The Awakening Season

Poetry. Matthew Mumber is both an accomplished poet and physician who writes wise and gently compelling poetic vignettes that display both his gift with language and his empathic, almost Zen-like way of being. His poems view the human struggle in the context of the indifference and beauty of the natural world, exploring notions of loss and bravery one patient at a time.

"These poems could only be written by someone who not only loves life but serves it. A medicine for the soul."--Rachel Naomi Remen
