The bodies of three women were found on the banks of the Spokane River. For twenty years, their killer remained undiscovered – until a DNA match revealed the shocking truth.
In 1990, the bodies of Yolanda Sapp, Nickie Lowe, and Kathleen Brisbois were discovered on the banks of the Spokane River in Washington State. They were part of a close-knit community of sex workers who swore to protect one another-a bond that ultimately failed tragically.
In 2012, DNA analysis led to Douglas Perry – a repeat offender incarcerated in a women's prison in Texas. The man authorities had been searching for for years was now Donna Perry. Her gender reassignment had not only changed her identity but also concealed the crimes of her past.
The secret of the river reveals the harrowing story of a murderess who believed she had defeated the monster within – and yet found only a new mask.
For fans of Gregg Olsen and Ann Rule.
