Blood Spatters Don't Lie

The Eyes...

They've haunted Janie since she was a child of eight; since the days after her father was murdered.

Will they never stop?

Even now, as a sergeant for the Highway Patrol, and a Forensic Pathologist, she still sees them in her nightmares.

Once, during the days when they'd been engaged, Captain Jake Carter comforted her during those dreams. That, however, was before she left him. Now, she has orders placing her under his command, and she worries about him, too.

What she doesn't know, is that he's expecting her.

And he's still angry as hell.
