Song of the Tumba

Avi and his Baba grow tumba gourds on the Maharashtra Plain deep in the heart of India. Baba tells Avi, "One day you will hear a tumba sing!" Avi learns patience as the tumbas grow and are later sold in the market. Avi visits the sitar maker's shop and later hears a sitar made from one of Baba's tumba gourds played by a famous musician in the town center.
