In this volume, Borum takes on the ultimate burden: sacrificing himself to protect a fragile young girl from a universe populated by twisted, grinning nightmares. His primary method of defense is a massive, scarred war-drum chained directly to his broad chest. By striking the drum, Borum weaponizes sonic destruction, generating devastating kinetic shockwaves capable of reshaping corridors and shattering enemies apart.

However, his immense power comes with one of the cruelest Rule 10 permanent scars in the franchise, known as "The Tragedy of Touch." While breaching a forbidden threshold, the Tavern enacted the Law of Equivalent Sacrifice. Rather than taking his life or reducing his combat effectiveness, the system permanently amputated his hands, replacing them with heavy, featureless solid iron cylinders fused directly to the bone.

This creates a devastating narrative dynamic. The punishment is deeply social and psychological rather than combat-related.
