The Upside of Anxiety: Development In Darkness:

Drey Nelson is a former professional basketball player turned artist, actor, and storyteller whose work is rooted in authenticity, transformation, and purpose. After years of competing at a high level on the court, Drey transitioned into the creative world, channeling the same discipline and passion into his craft as a performer and writer. His journey is one of reinvention-moving from the structure of professional sports into the vulnerability of artistic expression. But behind that transition was a deeper, more personal battle. Drey's path has been shaped not only by ambition, but by his fight through addiction, anxiety, and the internal struggles that often go unseen. It was through those darkest moments that his faith was tested, refined, and ultimately became the foundation for his healing. Through acting and storytelling, he explores themes of identity, faith, inner conflict, and redemption, offering a raw and honest perspective grounded in lived experience. His work does not come from a place of perfection, but from surrender, growth, and the daily decision to walk in purpose. Drey's story is a testament to restoration-that even in the midst of brokenness, there is a path forward. Today, he is committed to building a life centered on faith, family, and creative impact. Whether on screen, on stage, or on the page, his mission remains the same: to inspire others to confront their struggles, trust the process of transformation, and step boldly into who they are called to become.
