Anyone who has been estranged from children due to a divorce knows this is a traumatic, shattering experience. And, the heartbreak unbearable. After being rejected for so long, a new year started off with a farewell letter to my adult kids. I surrendered and was done. However, my mother had another plan. Several months later she passed. Her funeral was the first time I had seen my grown children in 4 years. What transpired that day turned our lives around. Our story is about second chances, choices and consequences.
