THE COMPLETE EXCITING COMICS VOLUME ONE STANDARD COLOR EDITION: COLLECTING ISSUES #1-4 RETRO COMIC REPRINTS #650

The first issue of EXCITING COMICS was published by Better Publications in April of 1940. The initial line up of characters included crime fighting with the Mask; science fiction with Major Mars, war stories by Sergeant Bill King, western adventures starring Jim Hatfield of the Texas Rangers and a plethora of other dynamic features.
EXCITING COMICS would eventually be remembered for the covers by Alex Schomburg and characters like the Black Terror. Here is an opportunity to look behind the curtain of history and experience the beginning of the titanic series that was known as EXCITING COMICS.
This book was compiled with the best images currently available. That stated, these comics are eighty years old. The only scans of issue #1 are from fiche rather than paper. The best efforts have been made to make the pages as enjoyable as possible but not every panel is perfect and some allowances for the age of the books need to be considered when judging the overall contents
