Bob Fingerman's Minor Achievements: The Fingerman Archives, Vol. 1 (1974-82)

Bob Fingerman has been creating comics for a long time. Professionally, for forty plus years, he' s created comics for Marvel, DC, MAD and Cracked magazines, Heavy Metal, Dark Horse Comics, Fantagraphics and more (including his acclaimed graphic novels White Like She, From the Ashes and the series for which he' s best known, Minimum Wage).

And in all those years he' s been very process oriented. Sure, when he was just getting his feet wet, he didn' t know Shinola from that other stuff and would mostly wing it when creating his comics. But from loosey-goosey improvisational comics, done with no script in advance, he gradually made his way to roughing out stories (sometimes with an outline, but often, again, with no actual script).

This book collects all the roughs for comics done prior to the fully scripted era (in which Bob has comfortably resided ever since), and features many stories that have never seen the light of day to anyone other than Fingerman himself! There are also early versions of material that eventually became such books as White Like She and Otis Goes Hollywood, as well as goofily saucy material for the adult entertainment world of publishing!
