13-year-old Molly Goldman was raised by her Daddy to believe one fundamental truth: Everyone is a liar. They are not to be trusted.

That worldview is challenged when Daddy is arrested at gunpoint in front of her and taken to jail. She is then told by a series of liars that she is not Molly Goldman but Amelia Rivers; a missing child who was kidnapped as a baby. While Molly struggles to comprehend how anyone could believe this nonsense, she is whisked away into Amelia's childhood home with her 'real' father, John.

While plotting a way to return to Daddy she makes a shocking discovery: a journal authored by John admitting to the murder of Amelia's mother. Plotting turns to desperation as she attempts to flee this new house of horrors. But is it possible to do so by herself? Or will she need to become a liar herself to find her way home?
